Technology pioneer Mitsubishi Electric introduced its digital factory concept e-F@ctory, advanced robotics technology and SCADA solution at FIT Future Industrial Technologies Fair, aiming to share information and develop cooperation regarding Industry 4.0. Mitsubishi Electric Turkey President Şevket Saraçoğlu, noting that Turkey needs to adapt to developments in the world to compete globally, explained that they responded to Turkish industry needs in Industry 4.0 era with innovative automation solutions.

Mitsubishi Electric, designing digital factories that are compatible with the Industry 4.0 where efficiency in production, energy saving and employee comfort improved, exhibited its next generation automation solutions at FIT Future Industrial Technologies Fair held on February 22 - 25 in İzmir. Mitsubishi Electric, which attracted attention at the fair with its digital factory concept e-F@ctory as a response to Industry 4.0, also introduced its advanced robotics and SCADA solution.

Mitsubishi Electric Turkey President Şevket Saraçoğlu, stating a country may develop and improve to the extent that can manufacture in world standards, underlined that they add value to the industry with their knowledge as a brand working for a sustainable future, as well as with energy efficient and environmentally friendly factory with automation products having superior technology. Şevket Saraçoğlu, who stated that Mitsubishi Electric is constantly working to provide the most appropriate solutions by analyzing the needs of the market and its users in all the sectors that it has served in over 95 years of experience, added that "In the process of Industry 4.0, the strong competitivenes of our country's industry in global markets and increase its export potential is a significant subject. Therefore, the most important agenda item in this process, in which the needs are diversified and personalized day by day, is undoubtedly manufacturing. In a rapidly changing world, countries that are capable of transitioning to digital production equipped with advanced technology compatible with Industry 4.0 may have the chance to compete globally. For this reason, it is important that the quality of manufacture increases day by day and the costs decrease accordingly. At this point, thanks to our "Change for the better" approach, we as Mitsubishi Electric are constantly improving our product range in accordance with the requirements of Industry 4.0, while we are leading the automation industry as a leading brand.

e-F@ctory providing cost savings in production

Information on the e-F@ctory concept, which is a response to Mitsubishi Electric's Industry 4.0, was shared at the fair that brought representatives from the automation sector together. The digital factory concept e-F@ctory, which has emerged as an integrated solution for establishing reliable and flexible production systems, offers tremendous cost savings while increasing speed, quality and productivity in manufacture. With this concept, Mitsubishi Electric is able to set up industrial plants to meet all the needs of Industry 4.0. Before the factory investment, it provides an opportunity to construct a virtual factory and realize the simulation of the factory and manufacture, evaluate the efficiency and shape the investment in the direction of the outputs. Mitsubishi Electric has been using the e-F@ctory concept on its production lines since 2003 and reflects its experience on its products and customers.

"Sensorless Collision Control" of robots prevents damage

Mitsubishi Electric's advanced robotics technology, which acts with the awareness that the robots will take more roles in the industry with the speed and convenience they provide, was one of the interesting topics of the fair. The robot control unit of the brand; provides the flexibility of motion control, the speed, accuracy and precision of the system. In addition, with the flexing functions, the robot arm acts as a kind of spring and is stretched according to the force. For advanced applications, Mitsubishi Electric's robots can be easily integrated with conveyor belt and product monitoring, force control and visibility features. The "Sensorless Collision Control" feature allows the robot to detect any obstacle in manual or automatic mode and prevents collision damage.

Robots able to imitate human arm movements

The RV-F series of Mitsubishi Electric's dynamic 6-axis robot is able to imitate human arm movements and boost productivity using very high speed systems with 0.32 second cycle times. The dual-arm structure of the 6-axis industrial robot, which can easily handle flexible figures with its dynamic structure, does not only provide added value in terms of freedom of movement, but also offers more stability and versatility. For the RV-F series, it is not difficult to work in very confined spaces, and there is no problem to mount robots on walls or ceilings. Mitsubishi Electric robots range from 504 to 2.050 millimeters depending on the model, with a carrying capacity of 2 to 70 kilograms.

The engineering time spent in development and configuration is shortened

Mitsubishi Electric's SCADA solution exhibited at Fair significantly shortens engineering time spent on developing and configuring with wizard interfaces that can automatically create PLC and SCADA projects. It also allows for a standard structure that will facilitate ongoing maintenance of the plant during the life cycle. With MAPS (Mitsubishi Electric Adroit Process Suite), reports can be created automatically covering fields such as input/output plans, PLC and SCADA label configurations. MAPS also helps keep project documentation up-to-date. Throughout the design phases, and even when the systems are changed or updated over time, MAPS provides uninterrupted management capability for PLC/SCADA projects and installations according to the electrical documentation set for the system of the plant.
