Contributing to Turkish industry with its advanced technology factory automation systems and CNC products, Mitsubishi Electric exhibited its next generation solutions in MAKTEK Eurasia 2018 Expo, the biggest machinery industry gathering of Eurasia. Attending to the Expo that took place between 2-7 October in TÜYAP Exhibition and Convention Center with its “Infinity Possibilities” concept that refer to the features of its CNC control units, Mitsubishi Electric drew attention with its integrated and innovative machinery automation solutions, with M80 and M800 series CNC control units being the main focus. With robots that play a vital part in e-F@actory digital factory concept which is the brand's answer to Industry 4.0 drawing attention, in the expo, Mitsubishi Electric's robot served Turkish coffee to the visitors.

Making statements about the Expo, the President of Mitsubishi Electric Turkey, Şevket Saraçoğlu said; "As Mitsubishi Electric, we add value to factories that operate in numerous fields all around the world in terms of rapid integration, productivity, flexibility and efficiency. We also offer our own technologies as high technology and energy efficient factory automation solutions that rapidly developing Turkish industry needs. Speeding up its operations in Turkey in recent years, our brand relays its technological power that's well known throughout the world into Turkish machinery and automation industry, specifically with its solutions designed for OEM industry and its cooperations with universities" he said.

"We have all the necessary equipments required to get factories ready for smart manufacturing"

Stressing on the fact that the most important item on the agenda for industries in the age of digital conversion is rapid, high quality, efficient and personalized manufacturing, Şevket Saraçoğlu said: "Countries that transition into digital manufacturing by adapting into Industry 4.0 phase can compete in a global level. It is vital for Turkey that draws attention with its high manufacturing power and potential that they reach this position for sustainable development. As a brand that provides advanced automation equipments, CNC products and engineering solutions to leading machinery manufacturers, we have all the necessary equipments required to get factories ready for smart manufacturing. We are with all manufacturers aiming to increase their competitive power in global market with our factory automation systems and CNC products incorporated with advanced technology with high added value" ending his words.

Next generation CNC products and automation solutions

Mitsubishi Electric's CNC products incorporated with advanced technology sets the standard in numerous industries, mainly being automotive and metal working industry. Creating solutions that contain all processes in factory automation, Mitsubishi Electric keeps developing its advanced technology every day in order to increase operating efficiency and workers' comfort in factories. Exhibiting next generation M80 and M800 series CNC control units in MAKTEK Eurasia 2018 Expo, Mitsubishi Electric brought together its IQ Platform, servo and inverter units prominent in factory automation as well as advanced robot technologies with industry representatives.

Smartphone-like easy and intuitive user experience

Taking their places among prominent products of the Expo, M80 and M800 series CNC control units with advanced technology make future-oriented CNCs that appeal to new generation operators who grew up with technologies such as smartphones and tablets easier to use. Multi-touch capable capacitive touch-screen panel which is standard for 10.4 inch or bigger screens provide smartphone-like easy and intuitive user experience to both experienced and new operators. This feature which brings an end to difficult key presses, each section can be viewed with ease while a menu in another screen can be selected with ease. 19 inch vertical touchscreen display incorporated in M800W series CNC control units; include multiple windows where the software keyboard and document viewer can be customized by machine manufacturing companies. This way, while you can view a CNC screen on the top part, you can run software keyboard, operator panel, document viewer or memo pad on the bottom part.

Errors caused by unauthorized interference are minimized

With its new "Simple View" feature, it is possible speed up adaptation period of new and inexperienced users by switching from normal monitor screen to simplified monitor screen while it is also possible to view any occurring alarms during operations in full-screen view mode, thus having more information about the current status of the machine. This way, machine operators can see alarms even when they are away from site, thus having a larger area of control. With user authorization level specification feature, it is possible to minimize errors caused by unauthorized interventions by specifying separate access permission per operator depending on their roles in production.

Quick, precise and efficient

M800 CNC control units stand out as a high end control device designed for high-speed and high-precision machine operations and multi-axis and multi tool system control. M80 with CNC-dedicated CPU provides an ideal solution for high efficiency and ease of use in relatively simpler machine system with less axes and spindles used. The CPU designed specifically for CNC industry by Mitsubishi Electric provide increased processing speed for machine performance supported with faster machinery response and more precise machine operations. Compatible with numerous open network protocols, M80 and M800 series provide easy integration of factory environment while standing out for their flexibility. Also, they make it easy to establish connection between robots, sensors, other equipments and the CNC. In the series which makes it possible to view 3D models in any size and position, even complex programs can be easily controlled with three dimensional simulation.

IQ Platform for low cost and maximum investment return

One of the products introduced in the Expo was IQ Automation Platform, an automation strategy developed with Mitsubishi Electric's global expertise and experience in manufacturing industry that makes e-F@ctory concept possible. The most important advantages of IQ Automation Platform, one of the rare product families that combine all vital automation components under a single structure are; minimum TCO (total cost of ownership), full and trouble-free integration among factory automation management systems, maximum efficiency and fast communication. This way, costs drop in each phase of automation cycle and maximum return is guaranteed from investments.

New collaborative robot series that cooperate with humans

Standing out with its advanced robotics technology, Mitsubishi Electric makes difference with its robots that operate with a precision almost similar to human arm or hands in numerous industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, packaging, automotive and domestic appliances. Manufacturing all parts of robots itself, Mitsubishi Electric can combine its knowledge and experience from manufacturing with robots and can serve different branches of industries. Exhibited in the expo, Mitsubishi Electric's collaborative robot series that work in cooperation with humans were designed to work closely with humans in manufacturing environment, in contrary to industrial robots that has to be placed behind a protective barrier due to security concerns. This series can be flexibly positioned anywhere in manufacturing environment thanks to their ability to work in cooperation with humans. Touch-screen operator terminal which can be plugged to the robot provides an intuitive user interface that allow users to "teach" robot its job without the need of programming expertise. Teaching function consists of "direct control" mode which provides operators with the ability to move robot from one position to another by hand and with controlled power. Once installation is completed, operator can wholly remove the terminal to give robots a total freedom of movement.
