Placed in a visible spot inside elevator cabins, each color of these labels carry a different meaning. While green and blue labels carry no indications against the safety of elevators, yellow labeled elevators should be used carefully and red labeled elevator must not be used at all."
Informing us on the meanings of label colors, Avni Bezmez said; "Indicating the suitability for use of the inspected elevators, green labels state elevators pose no risk to life or property. Considered as minor risk, blue label does not indicate risk to safety, but missing areas in terms of comfort. Thus, elevators with blue labels are not restricted for use. Yellow label that indicates related elevator is at an acceptable risk level makes it necessary to eliminate all problems determined during inspection within the following two months. Red label which states high risk for use of an elevator requires immediate action taken. If an elevator receives red label during inspection performed by supervising engineers, said elevator must not be used at all for safety of life and property. Making it mandatory to eliminate all problems detected during the inspection, this label makes it possible to seal and put the elevator out of use if necessary, actions are not taken within a month."
Continuing his words saying eliminating these issues related to yellow or red labels is within the responsibility of building administration, Bezmez ended his words saying yearly elevator inspection is performed by independent A-type periodic inspection companies and that elevator maintenance company must be at ready during these inspections.
