Manufacturer of fast and safe elevators incorporated with artificial intelligence, technology giant Mitsubishi Electric draws attention to the importance and meanings of color-coded labels in elevators upon expert inspection that has to be performed once a year per regulations. Meant to be placed in an easily visible place inside elevator cabin according to elevator regulations and each with a specific meaning depending on the color-code, they state whether an elevator is suitable for use or not. In green, blue, yellow and red colors, these labels make it possible to understand if an elevator is suitable for use in terms of safety of life and property. The only authorized retailer of Mitsubishi Electric Elevator and Escalator Systems in Turkey, AG MELCO’s Assistant General Manager Hüseyin Avni Bezmez informed us on the meanings of color-coded labels while drawing attention on elevator safety and warned the public about not using elevators market with red labels.

Standing out with its pioneering technologies in elevator industry, Mitsubishi Electric emphasizes on the meanings of label color-coded in green, blue, yellow and red inside elevator cabins. Manufacturing high-safety elevators incorporated with artificial intelligence technology that can evacuate passengers in dangerous situations like earthquake and fire, Mitsubishi Electric emphasizing on the fact that elevators marked with color-coded labels after expert inspections as per elevator regulations can be checked by users if they are safe for use or not. The only authorized retailer of Mitsubishi Electric Elevator and Escalator Systems in Turkey, AG MELCO’s Assistant General Manager Hüseyin Avni Bezmez informed us on elevator safety; "Elevator labels are placed in elevator cabins upon inspection of suitability of use performed yearly by expert supervising engineers in order to provide modernization of elevators as per elevator regulations. Placed in a visible spot inside elevator cabins, each color of these labels carry a different meaning. While green and blue labels carry no indications against the safety of elevators, yellow labeled elevators should be used carefully and red labeled elevator must not be used at all."

"Immediate action must be taken against red labeled elevators which indicate high risk"

Informing us on the meanings of label colors, Avni Bezmez said; "Indicating the suitability for use of the inspected elevators, green labels state elevators pose no risk to life or property. Considered as minor risk, blue label does not indicate risk to safety, but missing areas in terms of comfort. Thus, elevators with blue labels are not restricted for use. Yellow label that indicates related elevator is at an acceptable risk level makes it necessary to eliminate all problems determined during inspection within the following two months. Red label which states high risk for use of an elevator requires immediate action taken. If an elevator receives red label during inspection performed by supervising engineers, said elevator must not be used at all for safety of life and property. Making it mandatory to eliminate all problems detected during the inspection, this label makes it possible to seal and put the elevator out of use if necessary, actions are not taken within a month."

Continuing his words saying eliminating these issues related to yellow or red labels is within the responsibility of building administration, Bezmez ended his words saying yearly elevator inspection is performed by independent A-type periodic inspection companies and that elevator maintenance company must be at ready during these inspections.
